FreeRTOS
Real-time capable with FreeRTOS on the Cortex-M
Our NXP-based embedded modules feature, in addition to the powerful Cortex-A core, an energy-efficient Cortex-M core. This is ideal for time-critical tasks and optionally runs the proven FreeRTOS from F&S.
F&S has specifically adapted FreeRTOS to its boards and provides a matching Board Support Package (BSP). Using the integrated rpmsg interface, efficient and reliable communication is established between FreeRTOS on the Cortex-M and Linux on the Cortex-A. This enables seamless implementation of real-time control and monitoring functions alongside complex applications or graphical user interfaces running under Linux. The result: maximum performance, low power consumption, and a clear separation of real-time and application logic.
