Mit dem Starterkit haben Sie die Möglichkeit während der Entwicklungsphase eine externe Peripherie mit der PicoCOMA7 zu verbinden. In ihrer Form als Steckmodul führt sie alle Signale auf einen 80pol Steckverbinder.

Das, im Kit enthaltene, Basisboard führt alle Schnittstellen der PicoCOM93 auf gängige Buchsen oder Stiftleisten heraus.

Das Starterkit wird mit vorinstalliertem Linux ausgeliefert. Für Testzwecke ist es auch möglich, ein anderes als das vorinstallierte Betriebssystem (z.B. Debian, QNX oder Win11 IoT) zu installieren und damit Software für die PicoCOM93 zu entwickeln.

Das Starterkit besteht aus einem Basisboard mit aufgesteckter PicoCOM93 und einem Kabelset. Das Basisboard bietet Anschlussmöglichkeiten für folgende Schnittstellen: Ethernet, USB Host, USB Device, 2x RS232, SD Karte, I²C, SPI, Audio (Line In, Line Out) und E/ A-Ports. Als Spannungsversorgung werden 5V benötigt. Dem Starterkit liegt auch ein 7" WVGA TFT mit resistivem Touchpanel (ET070080) und dem passenden Displayadapter mit Filmkabel und Touchkabel bei. Yocto

For the CPU NXP i.MX93 F&S offers a Yocto based environment. In addition, F&S provide a BSP for FreeRTOS. This FreeRTOS BSP makes it easier to use features of Cortex-M33.

Yocto has established itself as the standard for Linux build environments in recent years. Our standard configuration, which is intended to give a first impression of the module's functionality, includes the following features: Busybox, gdb, alsa-utils, gstreamer, fbv, X11R7, matchbox, feh, openssl, openssh, ncurses, can-utils, iproute2, ftpd, httpd, telnet, tftp, and much more.

F&S also offers a virtual machine (based on VirtualBox) with an installed Linux based on the Fedora distribution for free download. All packages necessary to translate our software are already installed. All services (NFS, TFTP) for working with our boards are also installed. Our BSP is unpacked and precompiled in the right directories. With this virtual machine it doesn't matter whether you use Windows or Linux as the host. Simply download the VHD, import it into VirtualBox and development can begin immediately.

FreeRTOS

In addition to the 2 Cortex-A55 cores, the NXP i.MX 93 SoC also has a Cortex-M33 core. The Cortex-M33 core is particularly suitable for real-time tasks or for power saving.
F&S offers a completely tested BSP for the use of the Cortex-M33 for FreeRTOS or Bare Metal application.
