The booting time of Windows CE in connection with PicoMOD takes between 5 and 15 seconds - depending on the used Image and the used interfaces. As a practical example we have the PicoMOD6 which takes 8 seconds to boot Windows CE 6 Core Images.

During this time the connected display is switched off and therefore black. F&S offers a boot screen to show the user of the device the starting process while booting.

Advantages of a boot screen:

• Display of a bitmap after only 100 ms after switching on the device
• Boot screen can get replaced by the device manufacturer
• Boot screen cannot get changed by end user
• A one-time fee must be paid to get access to this feature.
